The Faculty of Medicine at the University of Rojava (Northeast Syria) was founded in 2016 to address the severe shortage of doctors in the region due to the war. Despite all the challenges, the first generation of doctors graduated in 2023. However, most doctors in Northeast Syria are not specialists, hindering the full development of the healthcare system.
Therefore, local health institutions, along with CAM-MEK, have developed a Medical Specialization Program in Internal Medicine, General Surgery, Orthopedic Surgery, Pediatrics, and Gynecology.
The program will take place at the Raqqa Hospital, severely damaged during the war. Some areas of the hospital need renovation to accommodate the training doctors and prepare teaching spaces for practical workshops and seminars. It is also necessary to provide educational materials, medical equipment, and necessary supplies for the training doctors to learn and practice their specialties. Specifically, we need:
· To reform and furnish the area of the hospital that will host the resident doctors.
· Diagnostic laboratory material.
· Surgical material for specific interventions, mainly in gynecology and obstetrics.
· Medical simulators for skills training.
· Laptops.
To make this possible, we have launched this fundraising campaign, in which CAM-MEK retains nothing for itself: 100% of the funds raised will go towards implementing the program and covering the training needs of this new generation of doctors. Your support will reach directly where it is truly needed.
Collaborate in building a public and sustainable healthcare system for Northeast Syria
